29/05 Things I Learned This Weekend

It's been an interesting weekend moping about the house by myself, working mostly, but I've learned a lot.

I'm growing increasingly convinced that I should be banished from computing forever. Oh well.

26/05 Hacking PSMTabBarControl

After deciding that my application is just too good for a stock NSTabView, I grabbed PSMTabBarControl and hacked it so that user's couldn't close tabs if specified (i.e. added the attribute to the Interface Builder Palette, added the appropriate accessors to the framework).

It really wasn't too hard, the patch, and the modified new project can be found over here.

John Pannell also told me that one of the Adium project's summer of code students will be working improving PSMTabBarControl, so I'm a bit uncertain if I want to finish and submit the patches to allow for changing the alignment of tabs (align-left, align-center, align-right), hrm. That said, I'm totally jealous, there are a lucky few students that get to hack Cocoa for the summer, and get Google to fork over some monies for it. Rad.

Last year I had to struggle with figuring out all the mach-madness in Apple's launchd(8) utility. Guess that was my fault though ;).

Software to be privately beta'd soon, stay tuned...or something.

11/05 L4::BSD, because I lack common sense.

With this post, I've made it clear to several academics, that I'm "out of my fucking mind."

I've been interested in the L4::Pistachio microkernel, which is written in C++, and adheres to the L4 version X.2 specification.

Hopefully, I can start a project similar to Darbat which is an experimental port of Darwin to be based upon the L4 microkernel, instead of that dirty Mach microkernel ;).

But yes, I'm "out of my fucking mind."

08/05 That's hawt.

I've been quite busy finishing up this semester, as well as getting some other non-cocoa hackery done, so in order to fill the void, I figure i'll whore/plug my friend Zech Leal's music.

Zech Leal is willing to travel long distances to play music for you, he plays cover songs too, hell, if you rub him the right way (and gently) he might even dance a wee bit for you.

Anyways, I uploaded a song of his that we recorded sitting on the floor of an apartment in the deep unihabited bush of Corpus Christi.

Creep (as covered by Zech Leal)

04/05 Anonymantis, because I could.

Anonymantis was released today, Anonymantis is what's behind the bleep. bug reporter.

You can download Anonymantis straight from here.

Anonymantis works in conjunction with MantisConnect which can be downloaded from the MantisConnect site.
Anonymantis is BSD licensed, so feel free to use and modify it as you see fit!

I got paid a bit for working on it too, 4.5 hours of work, woohoo.
